Faugheen and Yorkhill among Penhill's rivals as Mullins targets Stayers
Stayers' Hurdle winner Penhill will face 11 rivals including big-name stablemates Faugheen and Yorkhill as he aims to double up in the Ladbrokes Champion Stayers Hurdle at Punchestown on Thursday.
Willie Mullins, in his bid to retain the Irish trainers' championship, sends out seven of the 12 runners, who also include Bacardys, Bleu Et Rouge, Shaneshill and Bapaume.
Gordon Elliott relies on Diamond Cauchois and Lieutenant Colonel, while Identity Thief and Jezki go for Henry de Bromhead and Jessica Harrington respectively. The field is completed by the Warren Greatrex-trained La Bague Au Roi.
In the Ryanair Novice Chase, Mullins also holds strong claims in the shape of Arkle winner Footpad, who faces six rivals including stablemates Saturnas and Asthuria, as well as the De Bromhead-trained Petit Mouchoir, who will be ridden by Davy Russell.
De Bromhead also fields Calino D'Airy, while Castlegrace Paddy and the Dan Skelton-trained Optimus Prime, ridden by Noel Fehily, complete the field.
