Luke Morris: Alpinista fits the profile - there aren't many chinks in her armour
Luke Morris will be on board Britain’s leading hope Alpinista in the Qatar Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe (3.05) at Longchamp on Sunday and expects the nerves to kick in before the biggest ride of his career.
Only Luxembourg is shorter in the market for Europe's biggest race and the popular mare could challenge Aidan O'Brien's colt for favouritism in the €5 million contest as she was shortened to 5-1 (from 6) after being allocated a favourable draw in stall six on Thursday.
Five of Morris's eight Group 1 victories have come on Kirsten Rausing's five-year-old and the pair have a perfect record in the last two seasons, in which they are unbeaten in seven races.
