A truly mixed day of racing with both codes catered for and the first day of the week-long Galway summer festival encompassing the Flat and jumps.

Two hurdle races to start and a bumper to finish wrap round four on the Flat as Galway begins with an evening meeting.

Issuing a going update on Monday morning, Galway tweeted: "NH: Good, Flat: good to yielding. Forecast: mainly dry with possibility of some showers overnight tonight approx 4-6mm. Selective watering on the chase course this morning."

A Flat meeting at Ayr and the jumpers at Newton Abbot start the day before the traditional Monday evening card at Windsor and Ffos Las, on the Flat, take over.
