Search For A Song will clash with Stradivarius for the first time when the pair meet in the Group 2 Qipco British Champions Long Distance Cup at Ascot on Saturday.

Trainer Dermot Weld has decided to take on the champion stayer with the back-to-back Irish St Leger winner and has booked Oisin Murphy for the occasion.

Search For A Song won her second Irish St Leger at the Curragh last month when swooping late to beat Ebor scorer Fujaira Prince by two lengths under a perfectly judged ride from Oisin Orr.
