'He'll take an awful lot of beating - he's a serious operator at home'

The season has started with a different name on the Tizzard licence and it marks a new era for one of Britain's biggest jumps yards, with a prominent focus on building for the future.

Colin Tizzard built up Venn Farm from a small-scale training facility operating alongside a dairy business to become one of the most successful training operations in Britain but son Joe is now full of fresh ambitions sparked by a team of 31 unraced horses.

Hopes for the future also stretch further than the equine talent. Tizzard and wife Rachel welcomed son Thomas to the world in early September and the proud dad hopes he will develop the same racing passion which fuels the Tizzard family.
