Rising pressure on Australian operators mirrors situation in northern hemisphere

Last week Australia enjoyed 'The Race That Stops A Nation' but that was a much-needed highlight for the gambling sector there which is coming under increasing pressure from regulators and politicians.

The Australian market is an important one for the major European players, providing Entain and Flutter Entertainment with ten per cent and 18 per cent of their revenue respectively according to their interim results.

However, the environment the industry faces there is increasingly mirroring the situation in Britain and Ireland – with the major players the same in both hemispheres.
