Monday: Southwell

Cheltenham Festival-winning jockey Adam Wedge is determined to stay focused after a memorable week in the saddle.

Wedge has ridden three winners in five days, with his latest success coming on Clear The Runway in the 2m handicap chase for trainer Laura Morgan.

The win follows his successes on Coole Cody in the Grade 3 Craft Irish Whiskey Co. Plate Handicap Chase at Cheltenham and on Killer Clown in the Virgin Bet Handicap Chase at Kempton on Saturday.

Asked about Clear The Runway's win, the six-year-old's second of the campaign, Wedge said: "He was very good back in trip, which I didn't think was ideal.

"He was a bit keen over the first couple and I let him go to the front. It was probably the best thing to do with his galloping.

"He's going the right way since being switched to fences and hopefully he can continue that way."

"It has been a fantastic week," Wedge added. "To have a Cheltenham Festival winner and a winner at Kempton on Saturday was amazing and things are going very well.

"I have to keep my head down and make sure I do the best with every opportunity I'm given."

Boombawn gets off the mark

The Dan Skelton-trained Boombawn made no mistake at short odds with a 13-length success in the 2m novice hurdle under Harry Skelton.

The five-year-old finished second to Call Of The Wild at Doncaster this month on his first run after wind surgery but went one better this time to secure a first career victory at 2-5.
