Preview

Organisers of the Rugby League World Cup will be licking their lips as Samoa face France at the Halliwell Jones Stadium on Sunday for a place in the quarter-finals.

Toa Samoa lost 60-6 to England, but after beating Greece 72-4, they know another win in Pool A will see them follow England into the knockout stages.

Sunday's battle in Warrington could be one of the closest games we have seen so far, and over the points looks the way to go.

Both teams have to go for broke on Sunday, and Samoa's powerful forwards should lay the platform for an entertaining affair.

In Pool C, Lebanon should complete a fine few weeks by booking their place in the quarter-finals by beating Jamaica.

The Cedars, who led by 16 points at half-time on the way to beating Ireland, can overcome a 20-point handicap in the first half against Jamaica, while Tonga will look to secure top spot in Pool D with a convincing victory over the Cook Islands.

If Tonga prove too much for the Cook Islands, Wales can still progress to the last eight if they beat Papua New Guinea by at least 22 points on Monday.
