Preview

Bookmakers fancy Atlanta United to beat Toronto in the Eastern Conference on Saturday night but only four points separate the sides in the standings and it could be a closer match than the odds suggest.

Toronto should be buoyed by their 4-0 win over Montreal Impact in the semi-finals of the Canadian Championship last time out and that was their third win in four matches in all competitions.

With seven-goal Jesus Jimenez leading their attack, they can avoid defeat against Atlanta, who have picked up only two wins in their last six contests.

Sporting Kansas City booked their spot in the semi-finals of the US Open Cup with a 6-0 thrashing of third-tier side Union Omaha on Wednesday but have been far from convincing in Major League Soccer this season.

The Wizards have managed only four wins in 17 matches in MLS this season, leaving them in the lower echelons of the Western Conference.

A playoff berth is not yet out of reach and the win over Nashville last time out should serve as a major confidence-booster, but Saturday's opponents Seattle Sounders could simply be too strong.

Seattle have recorded four wins from their last six MLS fixtures, having held Western Conference pacesetters Los Angeles FC to a 1-1 draw most recently, and look a decent odds-on selection.

The Sounders will be without key forward Raul Ruidiaz for the match but they have one of the deepest squads in the division so should cope and can come out on top.

In Norway's Eliteserien, Kristiansund are rooted to the foot of the table with seven defeats from their eight matches and another loss could await them when they travel to mid-table Rosenborg.

Rosenborg have won two of their last three matches in Norway's top flight, keeping clean sheets in victories over Valerenga and Aalesund, and they can record a win to nil against Kristiansund, who have scored only five goals in the league in 2022.

Sweden's Allsvenskan returns this weekend after a month-long break - leaders Hacken travel to third-placed Hammarby in the pick of the round 11 fixtures.
