Jaunty Jordan Spieth goes a single-figure price for Masters with some bookmakers

Jordan Spieth is all the rage for this week's Masters at Augusta after the former world number one bounced back to winning ways in the Texas Open on Sunday.

Spieth, 12-1 favourite in Texas having arrived with PGA Tour form figures of 4-3-15-4-48-9, has slowly but surely got his game back this year and has headed to his beloved Augusta in high spirits. He won the Masters by four shots in 2015 and his full Augusta results are 2-1-2-11-3-21-46.

Dustin Johnson has topped the 2021 Masters market ever since winning the Green Jacket in November, but the world number one has an increasing army of stars just behind him in the betting, with Spieth settling in at just 9-1 with some firms. The top-price 12-1 Spieth may not last long if Jordan-mania continues over the next couple of days.

Another player boosted by events on Sunday was Jon Rahm, whose wife gave birth to their first child. There was concern that the Spaniard might not be able to play at Augusta - or would have to leave the tournament prematurely - because he insisted he would have to be at the birth of his boy. With little Kepa Cahill entering the world safely, though, the timing is perfect for Rahm to attack Augusta with full focus.

Johnson is 9-1 favourite, with Bryson DeChambeau at 11-1. Tee-times will be announced on Tuesday and the tournament starts on Thursday. Heavy rain drenched the course before November's Masters, but the build-up to this edition has been dry.
