The Bromley Boys, a film which will have its premiere at Wembley Stadium on Thursday, is a light-hearted football-based comedy, but the club who inspired it have serious business under the iconic arch on Sunday.

Bromley have had their best season since winning promotion to the National League in 2014-15 and they can cap it off with a victory over National League North side Brackley in the FA Trophy final.

The Ravens narrowly missed out on making the fifth-tier playoffs, finishing three points adrift of the seventh-placed AFC Fylde after taking just one point from their last two league matches.

But their 70-point tally was an eight-point increase on the previous campaign and they are an example of the type of stable National League club Brackley aspire to be.The progressive Northamptonshire outfit are one of the bigger spenders in the National League North but their promotion dream ended last Sunday when they lost 3-0 at Harrogate in their playoff final.

They have had just a week to digest the disappointment and Bromley look value odds-against favourites to win in normal time.

The FA Trophy showdown is preceded by the FA Vase final between Stockton Town of the Northern League Division One and Hellenic League Premier Division champions Thatcham Town.

Stockton, who finished sixth in their division, are the favourites but next season they will be playing a step lower than Thatcham, who have gone up to the Southern League Division One West.

Thatcham have had the better season and look the value bet to win in normal time.
