West Brom were short of strikers after the departures of Dwight Gayle and Jay Rodriguez and have turned to Danish target man Kenneth Zohore.

Baggies manager Slaven Bilic has enthused about Zohore and said there is more to come from the player.

He needs to be right in that assessment because Zohore netted just one goal in 19 Premier League appearances last season.

The added bonus of this signing is that it weakens the selling club, Cardiff, who are expected to be their rivals in the promotion race.

Aden Flint

Middlesbrough to Cardiff, £4 million

Neil Warnock has worked with plenty of powerful centre-backs and he jumped at the chance to sign Aden Flint from Middlesbrough.

The towering defender is effective in both boxes and will be an obvious target from free kicks, corners and long throws.

He looks a solid replacement for Bruno Manga, who has joined French top-flight side Dijon.

Michael Morrison

Birmingham to Reading, free

Birmingham have had a miserable summer and were either unable or unwilling to agree fresh terms with their former captain, Michael Morrison.

It will be doubly depressing for Birmingham supporters to see Morrison line up for Reading - one of their likely rivals in the battle to stay up.

Reading were short of centre-backs after Matt Miazga's season-long loan from Chelsea ended and the signing of Morrison looks a smart move.

Conor Chaplin

Coventry to Barnsley, Undisclosed

Coventry are reported to have almost doubled their money on attacker Conor Chaplin, who they signed from Portsmouth for £500,000 in January.

Chaplin is still developing his skills and was restricted to substitute appearances in the last seven games of the season.

Matthijs de Ligt

Ajax to Juventus, £67.5 million

One of the most exhaustive transfer sagas of the summer reached its conclusion when Juve confirmed the signing of Ajax starlet Matthijs de Ligt.

The 19-year-old showed leadership skills beyond his years to captain the Dutch club to the semi-finals of the Champions League and is an ideal long-term replacement for accomplished veteran Giorgio Chiellini.

The defender can cope with the physical demands of Serie A and is superb in possession, making him one of the most promising young talents in world football.

Jean Michael Seri

Fulham to Galatasaray, loan

If any player epitomised Fulham's 2018-19 season in the Premier League it was Jean Michael Seri.

So much was expected from the industrious Ivorian midfielder after he was signed from Nice for a then club-record fee of around £25 million but he struggled to adapt to the intensity of England's top flight. A short-term stint in Turkey should give him time to rediscover his talents.

Kieran Trippier

Tottenham to Atletico Madrid, £20 million

In the space of five years Kieran Trippier has gone from plying his trade in the Sky Bet Championship with Burnley to sealing a transfer to Atletico Madrid and it looks like a good move for all involved.

The right-back endured a frustrating campaign at Spurs last term and never seemed far from making a serious blunder.

The England international's move to the Wanda Metropolitano plugs a gap for the Spaniards left by the departed Juanfran and gives him the opportunity to start afresh.

Sebastien Haller

Eintracht Frankfurt to West Ham, £45 million

This could well be one of the best pieces of business a Premier League side concludes this summer.

The striker, brought in for a club-record fee, was the centrepiece in Frankfurt's devastating frontline trio last term along with Luka Jovic and Ante Rebic, scoring 15 Bundesliga goals and notching five times in the Europa League.

He is capable of holding up play and inviting his more creative team-mates into the game and can profit from West Ham's wide options, thanks to his pinpoint heading ability.

Ravel Morrison

So much was expected of Ravel Morrison as a youth product at Manchester United and, seven clubs after leaving Old Trafford, he may have finally found the ideal club at which he can blossom.

Chris Wilder is adept at reigniting the careers of players who seem to have lost their way and the midfielder can be an explosive presence as he gets another chance in the top flight.

Fabian Delph

Manchester City to Everton, undisclosed

Unsettling the established double midfield pivot of Idrissa Gueye and Andre Gomes would appear to be a risky move by Everton but Fabian Delph's versatility means he should seamlessly slot into the team.

A two-time Premier League winner with Manchester City, he can also be deployed at left-back where he can provide cover for the developing Lucas Digne.

Delph made only 22 league appearances last season but, with superb stamina and an eye for a pass, he should be a welcome arrival.
