The league table suggests Philadelphia have got Chicago’s measure but the formbook tells us something very different.

The Union are sitting atop the MLS Eastern Conference but they are really struggling.

Chicago are also going through the mill and are down in tenth spot. Yet Philly have conceded 32 goals, Chicago just one more and the hosts have bagged only five more goals.

Indeed, over the last ten games, the Fire have averaged more shots on target than the Union.

All in all, it’s easier to make a case against Philadelphia than for them, especially at odds-on. Back the draw – Chicago have already had eight stalemates this season.

The most recent of those came on Thursday when they twice led against Columbus but were twice pegged back. That extended a frustrating run to just one win in ten with their main headache being that they haven’t kept a clean sheet in over two months.

Philadelphia have had a week to mull over their woeful 4-0 drubbing at Salt Lake and the bitter truth is that they have won just one of their last six in all competitions and that was at an Orlando side who were down to nine men by the 70-minute mark.

Philly scored ten goals in three encounters with Chicago last term but even their die-hard fans at the Talen Energy Stadium are less confident of success.

Recommendation
Draw
1pt 3-1 general
