England are expected to make light work of Montenegro in Thursday's Euro 2020 qualifier despite the absence of star man Raheem Sterling, who has been dropped by Three Lions manager Gareth Southgate for the Wembley fixture.

Sterling has been stood down for the match following his much-publicised bust-up with fellow squad member Joe Gomez.

The pair had clashed at Anfield on Sunday during the high-profile Premier League contest in which Gomez’s Liverpool got the better of Sterling’s Manchester City 3-1 and the City forward continued the feud when the Three Lions squad met up at St George’s Park on Monday.

England need only one point to seal their place at next summer’s finals and they are just 1-12 to claim all three against the Montenegrins. The draw is 12-1 while an unlikely away win is a 35-1 shot.

There is a glimmer of hope for Montenegro, who have drawn three of their last five meetings with the Three Lions, but England ran out 5-1 winners when the sides met in Podgorica in March.

A repeat scoreline is 22-1 with Coral and Sky Bet.

Sterling is expected to be available for England’s final Group A game in Kosovo on Sunday and Southgate’s men are 7-10 with BoyleSports to finish their qualifying campaign in style with a victory.
