Bolivia

Bolivia have reached the final on just two occasions (both on home soil) and it would be a huge surprise if they emerged as a major contender this year.

Their star striker, Marcelo Martins, plies his trade in the Chinese second tier but it unlikely to get many clear sights of goal. Twenty of the 23-man squad play for Bolivian clubs.

Brazil

Neymar has been Brazil's go-to man in recent years but will not take part after failing to shake off an ankle injury.

Others will have to step up, including Philippe Coutinho, who needs to respond after a disappointing season at Barcelona.

Goals should not be a problem with Gabriel Jesus, Richarlison and Roberto Firmino competing for attacking berths.

Peru

Peru won plenty of hearts but not enough points at last summer's World Cup and were eliminated after losses in their opening two group matches.

However, key veterans Paolo Guerrero and Jefferson Farfan have hung around to have another crack at Copa America glory and their quality and experience should at least push the Peruvians beyond the group stage.

Venezuela

Venezuela have the worst record among the Copa America regulars – reaching just one semi-final – but have been more competitive in recent years and should fancy their chances of advancing beyond the group phase.

Salomon Rondon has had an excellent season for Newcastle in the Premier League and looks by far their most significant attacking threat.
