England v Romania

5.30pm

England will be wondering how they managed to lose to France after dominating when it was 11 v 11. But their 2-1 defeat has left Aidy Boothroyd's side with a difficult task as they try to qualify for the semi-finals.

They must beat Romania to stand any chance of reaching the knockout phase and they can do so comfortably.

The defeat to France was self-inflicted with Hamza Choudhury's deserved red card starting a nightmare final 30 minutes as the ten men caved into late pressure having impressed early to go ahead.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka's woeful late own goal capped a nightmare finish, but goalscorer Phil Foden oozed class in midfield and there was penetration on the flanks from Ryan Sessegnon and Demarai Gray.

Romania caused a sensation in their opener, beating Croatia 4-1 with early goals from George Puscas and Ianis Hagi. It was impressive enough, although whether they beat much is open to debate.

Recommendation
England -1 on Asian handicap
1pt 24-25 bet365

France v Croatia

8pm

France left it late before opening their campaign with a 2-1 win over England and the man who started the comeback could also do the damage against Croatia.

Jonathan Ikone looked a threat when cutting in from the left on to his right foot and his equaliser on Tuesday was one of their three attempts on target.

Recommendation
J Ikone first goalscorer
0.5pt each-way 9-1 Betfair, Paddy Power
