Matches start 11am Monday

Essex are 4-7 to take another step towards claiming the County Championship title in their first season back in Division One by beating second-from-bottom Somerset at Chelmsford.

And second-placed Lancashire are also 4-7 to keep up the pressure on the Eagles by beating basement boys Warwickshire.

However, current champions Middlesex will not be thinking that they are safe from the drop and they look a value bet at 11-10, with stakes returned if a draw, to beat big rivals Surrey at The Oval.

Middlesex, who were thumped last four-day time out by 190 runs, have twice bounced straight back from heavy defeats with victories.

Surrey suffered a galling T20 Blast defeat on Friday and have drawn seven and lost one of their last eight Championship games.

Notts are way out in front in the promotion race but visitors Northants, Sussex and Kent are chasing Worcestershire in second.

England are 4-7 to beat West Indies despite closing day three on 173-3 in their second innings at Headingley with a lead of two.

Recommendation
Middlesex
1pt 11-10 general
