After losing last year's IPL final, Sunrisers Hyderabad were backed into ante-post favouritism this season and they smashed a colossal 286-6 in their opening win over Rajasthan Royals.

The Sunrisers have made four of the five highest scores in IPL history since the start of 2024 but their batting unit has failed to fire in their last three games.

Lucknow Super Giants and Delhi Capitals reached their victory targets with 23 and 24 balls to spare against Hyderabad, who were bowled out for just 120 in Thursday's 80-run defeat against defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders.

Pat Cummins' men may struggle to bounce back against Gujarat Titans, who smashed 232-5 in an 11-run defeat to Punjab Kings before impressive victories over Mumbai Indians and in-form Royal Challengers Bengaluru.

New signing Jos Buttler has made an immediate impact, scoring 54 and 39 in his first two appearances and thumping 73 not out off 39 balls against RCB.

Buttler looks back to his best after ending his unhappy spell as England's white-ball captain and he can outshine Gujarat's classy openers Shubman Gill and Sai Sudharsan.

He has had plenty of success against the Sunrisers in previous seasons, scoring a career-best 124 in 2021 and making 54 off 22 balls and 95 off 59 in 2023.
