Mumbai Indians vs Royal Challengers Bengaluru prediction

Mumbai Indians thrashed defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders in their first home match of the IPL season and they are targeting another victory at the Wankhede Stadium against Royal Challengers Bengaluru.

The success against KKR, who were rolled over for just 116, was a rare bright spot for Mumbai.

The Indians finished bottom of the ten-team table last season and have suffered away defeats to Chennai, Gujarat and Lucknow this term.

The return to fitness of India fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah is a huge positive for Mumbai, who have won their last two meetings with RCB, both at the Wankhede.

Suryakumar Yadav played crucial roles with the bat in both victories, cracking 83 from 35 balls in May 2023 and 52 off 19 last season.

India's T20 captain has made a consistent start to the new campaign and is worth backing to score 29 or more runs against the Royal Challengers.

Suryakumar made 29 and 48 in his first two outings before smashing an unbeaten 27 from nine deliveries to seal the win over KKR.

He top-scored with 67 in Friday's defeat to Lucknow and poses a major threat to RCB, who suffered an emphatic eight-wicket loss against Gujarat in their first home game on Wednesday.

Before that setback they had claimed impressive away wins over Kolkata and Chennai so a power-packed Bengaluru batting unit should contribute to an exciting contest in Mumbai.
