Kent Spitfires v Gloucestershire
Sky Sports Cricket & Main Event, 7pm Thursday

Kent Spitfires host Gloucestershire at Canterbury in a match which pits second against third in the T20 Blast South Group.

Both sides have two games remaining but one win may be enough as the race for quarter-final qualification heats up.

Gloucestershire appear to be something of a bogey side for the Spitfires in this format, having won their last five Twenty20 meetings.

Gloucestershire all-rounder Benny Howell was man of the match in the reverse fixture earlier this month but has had his season curtailed by injury and Kent will be confident of bouncing back from a one-run defeat to Surrey.

Their chances will be boosted by the arrival of South Africa captain Faf du Plessis who is replacing Afghanistan's Mohammad Nabi as Kent's overseas player in this competition.

Du Plessis is no stranger to the county circuit having performed well for Lancashire as a Kolpak player in 2008 and 2009.

A teammate of Kent captain Sam Billings at the Chennai Super Kings in the Indian Premier League, Du Plessis has hit just shy of 5,000 T20 runs and has been in good touch recently.

The South Africa skipper ended his World Cup campaign with 259 runs in his final three matches and in his last T20 outing he top-scored with 55 for the Edmonton Royals in the Global T20 Canada.

An experienced campaigner, Du Plessis is worth a bet to top score for the Spitfires on his debut.
