Free boxing tips, best bets and analysis for the 'Rumble on the Rock', the upcoming heavyweight rematch between Alexander Povetkin and Dillian Whyte in Gibraltar.

Where to watch on TV and boxing live stream

The blockbuster heavyweight rematch will be broadcast live in the UK on Sky Sports Box Office on Saturday 27th March 2021, it will also be streamed on the Sky Sports Box Office streaming service.

Outside of the UK, it will be available to watch live via streaming platform DAZN.

The broadcast from Gibraltar will start at 7pm UK time, with the main event expected to start at approximately 10pm.

Big-fight preview

The first fight between these two heavyweight warriors brought the curtain down in stunning fashion on the Matchroom Fight Camp over the summer last year.

The WBC interim world heavyweight title is again on the line, with the winner likely to move on to challenge for the title in the next 18 months.

Much more is on the line here though, should Whyte lose his career is in tatters and a major rebuild would be required to work back into the reckoning for a shot at any world title. Povetkin was a highly decorated amateur and has enjoyed a career at the top level for some time, at the age of 41 and with plenty of mileage on the clock this is his last run at trying to be crowned a world champion.

The Russian was put down twice in the first contest, Whyte was measured and boxed smartly at range before a well-disguised uppercut from Povetkin ended it in a flash during the fifth round.

It was a brutal stoppage and the postponement of this rematch due to Povetkin contracting coronavirus and being hospitalized has allowed for Whyte to fully recover.

Expect the 'Body Snatcher' to again box smartly and pick off Povetkin as he did in the first fight.

We may see an even more cautious display from Whyte this time and punters should steer away from another early stoppage.

Povetkin is slick and possesses the skills to trouble every heavyweight on the planet, but Whyte has a significant size and reach advantage - he is strongly fancied to get his older opponent out of the ring in the second half of the fight.

Undercard preview

Chief support in Gibraltar is the domestic dust up between Liverpudlian JJ Metcalf and Londoner Ted Cheeseman - it promises to be a cracker with both fighters keen on coming forward to trade.

The British super-welterweight title is on offer with marginal preference for Metcalf.

Experienced heavyweight Eric Molina is unlikely to pose much of a problem for the exciting and hard-hitting Fabio Wardley.

An entertaining bout between welterweight prospects Chris Kongo and Michael McKinson also features on the undercard, as well as the professional debut of Campbell Hatton - son of legendary Manchester fighter Ricky Hatton.

Boxing betting tips and odds

Dillian Whyte was the 1-4 favourite for the first fight between these two men last year, experienced Russian Povetkin was 11-4 and the draw was 22-1. The prices this time around are very similar despite the devastating fifth-round knockout Whyte suffered from a sublime Povetkin uppercut.

Prior to the stoppage, Whyte had knocked the 41-year-old to the canvas twice and punters should side with the Brixton fighter to exact his revenge inside the distance, but the Jamaica-born brawler can bide his time.
Whyte is generally 8-11 to win via KO, TKO or DQ, with the greater value in him gaining a late stoppage. Rounds 7-12 are on offer at prices bigger than 2-1.

A repeat knockout win for Povetkin is available to back at prices as big as 7-2, with a win via the judges' scorecards on offer at 14-1 and the draw priced up 30-1.
