Preview

These two warriors went toe-to-toe in one of the fights of 2012 and more fireworks are expected in Dallas in the early hours of Sunday morning.

Juan Francisco Estrada is clear favourite to avenge his loss to classy Nicaraguan Roman 'Chocolatito' Gonzalez and there is an expectation that the judges will once again be needed to separate the fighters.

Estrada was somewhat an unknown quantity coming into the first contest, he had never fought outside of his native Mexico and showed signs of inexperience in the bout appearing to over-exert himself in the early rounds before Gonzalez took over and all three scorecards were comfortably in his favour.

Gonzalez has lost twice since that entertaining win at flyweight in Los Angeles, both times to Thai Wisaksil Wangek in 2017, but has bounced back with four wins since and is a spot of value to triumph again.

There have been flashes of his old brilliance in recent bouts, including his ninth-round stoppage of Birmingham's Khalid Yafai, which saw the WBA world super flyweight title change hands.

Wangek also beat Estrada on points two years ago - a defeat which the Mexican has since avenged - and, although Estrada is now regarded by many as the king of the 115lbs division, 33-year-old Gonzalez still has enough in the tank to cause him big problems

The Ring Magazine belt is on the line, as is standard when the two best fighters in any weight division clash, and fight fans are in for a real treat.

The first bout was eight-and-a-half years ago and the rematch is in a different weight class, but the same outcome should be backed at the prices on offer.
