Jockey stated that his instructions were to get cover on the filly. He explained that he was able to fold across in behind runners going into the first bend and was content with his early position on the rail at the rear of the field. He added that he had been unable to improve his position until an opportunity had presented itself at which point he angled the filly wider entering the home straight whereupon his mount had failed to quicken up in the manner in which he had expected. Jockey further added that he had given the filly a backhander inside the final furlong where she hung left-handed briefly and thereafter had only stayed on at the one pace to obtain the best possible placing in his opinion.)
