Went right start, led, headed over 4f out, led again halfway, shaken up over 1f out, just held on (trainer said, regarding apparent improvement in form, that the gelding benefited from the drop in grade) (op 22/1)
Held up, not much room and ran on well inside final furlong, not quite get there (jockey said, regarding running and riding, that her orders were to hold the gelding up early and come with one late run, a tactic which is employed on a consistent basis when riding it to victory in the past, having jumped well from stall 13 she gradually worked her way across to the inside rail in the back straight and was satisfied with her position approaching the home turn, however the field did not fan off the rail as expected and was initially disappointed for a clear run to the inside approaching 1f mark, she switched to the outside and was denied a clear run until passing 1f mark at which point she commenced to ride out to the best of her ability) (op 8/1)
Slowly into stride, held up, switched right and headway over 1f out, stayed on, not reach leaders (jockey said, regarding running and riding, that his orders were to break handy and track the leaders and not to hit the front too soon in the straight and the gelding only possesses a short finishing burst, however, it was slowest into stride and settled further back than intended, never travelling with much fluency throughout, he commenced to nudge along approaching the home turn and availed himself of clear running by switching wide shortly after straightening, however it appeared reluctant to go through with its effort and carried his head high, he rode hands and heels in the home straight attempting to coax it to do its best) (op 7/2)
