Robbie Wilders' play of the day at Taunton

The Doyen Chief
The Doyen Chief should take plenty of stopping in the 2m7f handicap chase (2.25) at Taunton for Alan King.
He has never tackled this trip under rules, but landed a 3m point-to-point and looks worth a try over a longer distance. His formlines are reading well (easily beat Grade 2 winner Take No Chances over hurdles 14 months ago) and his recent chase third to Lowry's Bar at Exeter looks much better now.
Lowry's Bar served it up to Jingko Blue in a Grade 2 next time, while the fourth from that race Lord Of Thunder followed home subsequent Scilly Isles winner Handstands in the rearranged Towton at Ffos Las. The Doyen Chief has been dropped 1lb and can prove better than his mark after a two-month break.
