King George speed test ideal for Cyrname but might not favour Lostintranslation

For once the hype proved spot on as Cyrname and Altior dished up a November treat to savour as the pair duelled in the mud for the Grade 2 Christy Chase at Ascot.

Both horses turned up with one eye on a tilt at the King George VI Chase on Boxing Day but it was Cyrname who now heads to Kempton next month with a worthy victory in the bag.

Altior came into the race with a 19-race unbeaten sequence, which included the last two Queen Mother Champion Chases at the Cheltenham Festival, and was a very well backed 1-3 favourite, having been a 4-5 chance earlier in the week.
