Champion would be greatly diminished without Jade

The best hurdlers should be running in the Champion and Apple's Jade is quite possibly the best of all right now.

This was another superb performance from a mare who is clearly in scintillating form, and if she runs in the big one I think she'd challenge Buveur D'Air for favouritism.

It's a crazy situation, therefore, that the Mares' Hurdle at present seems the more likely option. In fact we could end up with the two finest mares in Ireland – the other of course being Laurina – taking each other on in a race confined to their own sex instead of running in the Champion.
