Mares can be funny but Jack Kennedy showed exactly how you handle them

Thursday was another incredible day's racing but Jack Kennedy certainly saved the best for last with his effort on Mount Ida in the Kim Muir.

What a display of horsemanship that was. Sometimes mares can be funny, in that, if it's not happening for them, you just have to sit and suffer and let them get into their rhythm in their own time.

They were the cards Jack was dealt, but rather than panicking and giving Mount Ida a few slaps, he just left her alone. Slowly but surely, she got into her rhythm and she eventually came there on the bridle.
