'It's been amazing' - Ben Bromley continues fine form aboard Ginger Du Val
Friday: Doncaster
Leading amateur jockey Ben Bromley continued his impressive form with a front-running success aboard Ginger Du Val for his boss Mel Rowley.
Ginger Du Val has finished in the first four in all seven starts since joining the Shropshire stable and scored for the second time for connections in the 2m3½f handicap hurdle.
Bromley’s record now has nine winners from 31 rides this season at a 29 per cent strike-rate and he is leading the gentleman amateur jockeys’ championship by five winners.
The 19-year-old, who enjoyed a first Cheltenham victory aboard Strictlyadancer this month, said: “Ginger Du Val has been a fantastic mare and it worked out well today. She’s a bit quirky but gets the job done and she was game at the finish.
“I’m very overwhelmed with how the season is going – it’s been amazing. I’m very lucky to be in this situation and riding horses like this. Mel and Phil [Rowley] are great to work for and very helpful – I wouldn’t be able to do it without them.
“I’m leading the amateur championship and it would be unbelievable to win it. There’s a long way to go but I’ll be trying my best to stay in front.”

The John Mackie-trained Barton Knoll landed back-to-back renewals of the 2m3f handicap chase when holding on for a short-head success under Sean Quinlan.
His success initiated a quickfire double for the rider, who won the following 2m5f novice hurdle on the unbeaten Lyrical Genius for Charlie Longsdon.
