'I'm grateful to everyone' - Murphy ends a memorable week with 16 winners
Oisin Murphy ended a dream week just as he started it with a win at Windsor as he steered the Michael Bell-trained Bolthole to success in the mile novice stakes to make it 16 winners in seven days.
The exciting two-year-old holds an entry for Doncaster’s £200,000 sales race next month and was the trainer's first winner for owner Michael Buckley following his two-length victory.
Unlike Buckley, who missed the impressive performance being on holiday in Greece, Murphy has been doing anything but relax as his relentless pursuit of a third successive jockeys’ title continues.
Operating at a 40 per cent strike-rate for the week, Murphy has pulled well clear of nearest rival William Buick and said: "I'm always thinking about the jockeys' championship. You can’t reflect on what’s happened because you’re always thinking about the next day.
"I had good chances every day and the people I ride for are flying so I'm grateful to everyone, especially the stable staff, who work so hard behind the scenes to get the horses in top condition."
Oisin's sweet sixteen:

1. Future John and Thady Gosden 6-5f
Tuesday- Ffos Las:
2. Harrow Andrew Balding 2-1
3. Beowulf Ed Walker 8-11f

5. Mutafawwig Saeed bin Suroor 15-8
6. Mo'assess Saeed bin Suroor 1-3f
7. Vino Victrix Hughie Morrison 5-4f
8. Motorious Stuart Williams 13-8f
Thursday- Brighton:
9. Big Boy Bobby Roger Charlton 5-6f
10. Ravens Ark Hughie Morrison 9-5f
11. Rhyme Scheme Michael Appleby 6-5f
Friday- Haydock:
12. Kawida Ed Walker 4-9f
Saturday- Newmarket:
13. Neptune Legend Hugo Palmer 7-1
14. Storm Damage Saeed bin Suroor 5-4f
15. Dancing Harry Roger Charlton Evsf
Sunday- Windsor:
16. Bolthole Michael Bell 3-1f
Murphy rode a winner on each day last week and heads to Lingfield next for four rides on Tuesday, but has a quieter week in store as a two-day whip suspension forces him to miss out on Friday and Saturday’s racing.
Worthwhile trip
Callum Shephard guided the Roger Varian-trained Femme Friendly to a three-length win in the 6f fillies novice stakes for his retained owners the Gredley family on his only ride of the day.
Tim Gredley, speaking after the family’s first two-year-old winner of the season, said: "She is a bit flighty. They’ve literally done nothing with her at home as they think she’s naturally quite talented.
"With our breeding operation we do try and breed those middle-distance horses, so when we get those early two-year-olds it’s a bit of a bonus more than a plan."
