Seconds before Bravemansgame walked into Haydock's winner's enclosure, a host of crisp autumn leaves flew in front of our faces.
It seemed apt, for what took place on the track a few moments earlier made one think that perhaps, just perhaps, a positive wind of change had blown for British jump racing.
