Fabulous Newmarket card should bring smiles to our faces in difficult times
Sir Mark Prescott nailed it this week. “It’s very hard for anybody in whatever field to have any fun. Everything in life is people, and it’s a terrible loss.”
The Newmarket legend was, of course, reacting to this week’s crushing and demoralising blow that racing potentially faces another six months or more without crowds.
It’s the big days where the effects are felt most acutely. Most sporting events, particularly football, look and feel utterly soulless in empty stadiums, and racing is no different.
