Reviews and affordability the elephants in the room as operators unveil results
Covid-19 and the burgeoning market in the United States were two of the main themes as three of the big beasts of the gambling industry unveiled their annual results last week, but the perennial subject of regulation was never far from the conversation.
The 16-week call for evidence which launched the government's review of the Gambling Act 2005 closes at the end of the month and will be at the forefront of many a chief executive's thoughts.
So will the Gambling Commission's consultation on remote customer interaction, which closed just a few weeks ago and could pre-empt the findings of the government's review by bringing in controversial affordability checks.
