I had another ten horses I could have put in – and I'm definitely going to enter about another ten lists as I've got so many horses I'd like to put in – but here are my first choices.

I've always been impressed with Champ and have a soft spot for him as he's related to Best Mate. He was a dual Grade 1-winning hurdler and can go right to the top over fences.

Fakir D'oudairies was really smart over hurdles last season and he looks as if he could be an even better chaser after defeating Melon in good style on his first start over fences at Navan. I love the way he jumped there.

I watched Dlauro win his point-to-point as a five-year-old in Ireland and I was particularly taken by his bumper victory on his sole start for Joseph O'Brien. I think he'll be a very good hurdler.

Gordon always thought a great deal of Battleoverdoyen. I thought it was a workmanlike performance at Punchestown and I think he'll go a long way in staying chases.

Lostintranslation is the horse I love most in training. I love the way he jumps and I hope he wins the Gold Cup.

Thyme Hill ran a very good race at Cheltenham on Saturday. He stays and jumps and is a very gutsy horse.

I have always been impressed by and he could go to the top if he stays sound.

I'm sure Klassical Dream will improve from his third at Punchestown and he'll prove to be one of the top hurdlers of the season.

I think Laurina could turn out to be a top novice chaser. She's a lovely big mare.

I was impressed by all of Envoi Allen's performances, from his bumper runs to his first run over hurdles at Down Royal and I know Gordon thinks a huge amount for him.
