Permian, who bounced back from flopping in the Derby with a win at Royal Ascot, has been supplemented for the Group 1 Juddmonte Grand Prix de Paris at Saint-Cloud on Friday evening.

Connections paid the €43,200 supplementary fee on Tuesday morning to add Permian to the field, which also includes three Aidan O'Brien contenders in Orderofthegarter, Venice Beach – who was two places behind Permian in the Derby – and Spanish Steps.

Permian had also been supplemented for the Derby after his win in the Dante at York before finishing a disappointing tenth, beaten more than eight lengths, behind Wings Of Eagles at Epsom.

The son of Teofilo bounced back to form in the King Edward VII Stakes at Royal Ascot 20 days later.

Charlie Johnston, assistant to his father Mark, said: "It doesn't look the strongest Group 1 and he fully deserves his place in another Group 1.

"It is a €500,000 race and after winning the best two Group 2s for three-year-olds the natural progression is to go back into Group 1 company."

Race sponsors Juddmonte have two contenders in Ice Breeze, who won the Group 2 Prix Hocquart at Chantilly last month, and the John Gosden-trained Weekender, who won a Newmarket handicap off a mark of 87 two weeks ago and is due to be partnered by Frankie Dettori.

Permian was not the only supplementary entry as the Stefano Botti-trained Derby Italiano winner MacMahon was also added to the field.
