Australia beckons for James Doyle this weekend with the globetrotting jockey booked to ride Al Quoz Sprint winner Jungle Cat on his first start since Dubai World Cup night.

The six-year-old landed a first Group 1 win under Doyle in the feature sprint contest at Meydan in March, in which stablemate and favourite Blue Point was withdrawn at the start after blood was found in his nostrils.

Jungle Cat will be running in Australia for the first time in the Group 1 Sir Rupert Clarke Stakes, an open handicap at Caulfield, on Saturday.

Appleby said: “We're fortunate at Godolphin to retain two world-class jockeys, who we can send to any country when required.

“James knows Australian racing well and won the Group 1 Al Quoz Sprint on Jungle Cat earlier in the year.

“I expect Will [Buick] to be riding there later in the Carnival. We have a big team to run.”

Doyle will also ride Caulfield Cup entry Folkswood, who was last seen in action when sixth in the Jebel Hatta at Meydan in March, in the Group 3 Naturalism Stakes open handicap.

Folkswood is a 20-1 shot with bet365 to win the Caulfield Cup on October 22.
