David Menuisier hoping Danceteria can waltz to Group 3 glory in La Coupe

David Menuisier has long-held Danceteria in high regard and is hoping the four-year-old can make his mark in Pattern company in the Group 3 La Coupe at Longchamp on Monday.

Danceteria won at Listed level for the first time at Maisons-Laffitte in April, beating the well-regarded Andre Fabre-trained Mer Et Nuages by a head.

He was then third in the Group 3 Brigadier Gerard Stakes at Sandown last month, which has convinced Menuisier that victory at this level is not beyond Danceteria, who will bid to follow in the footsteps of recent British-trained winners of this race Air Pilot (2016) and Robin Of Navan (2017).

Speaking on Sunday, Menuisier said: "He won his Listed race over nine furlongs on the straight course at Maisons-Laffitte and performed well despite the narrow winning margin.

"He followed that with a good display in the Brigadier Gerard at Sandown even though the race was a bit of stop-and-go situation which did not suit. I think he needed that run which should have put him straight."

The native Frenchman, who is based in West Sussex, first enjoyed Pattern success last season with Thundering Blue in the Group 2 York Stakes, and added: "I'm looking forward to the race and we think he's a nice horse.

"The going should be pretty much ideal for him. He goes on any ground but good to soft is perfect. All the lights are green and if he's good enough he'll win and if he's not he won't."

James Doyle travels to France to ride Meydan Group 3 winner Spotify for Godolphin and Charlie Appleby, while the Ken Condon-trained Success Days will bid to build upon his promising third in the Group 2 Huxley Stakes at Chester's May festival.

Condon said of the consistent seven-year-old: "We were very happy with his run at Chester. They've had plenty of rain and if they get more it'll be welcomed. He travelled over nicely but it looks very competitive and we're just hoping he goes well."

The Listed Prix Volterra (3.25) comes earlier on the card and Karl Burke is expecting better from Nell Gwyn Stakes ninth Mistress Of Love.

"She's in great form and she'll make a big step up from the Nell Gwyn, which was a moderate run for her," the trainer said. "She's a lot better than that bare form.

"Listed races for fillies only are few and far between and I'm looking forward to seeing her run."
