Called To The Bar strolls to Gladiateur hat-trick for relaxed Brandt
Called To The Bar made short work of his rivals to claim a third Prix Gladiateur and a fourth Group win at Longchamp, a record that is all the more impressive given that the track was closed for 18 months in the early stages of his career.
"Longchamp is his garden and the trip and the ground were perfect for him today," said co-trainer Pia Brandt. "Once he settled I was never worried during the race and it was just a case of the jockey staying cool and waiting.
"The Cadran stretched his stamina too far, but if we don't get too much rain, he will come back here for the Prix Royal-Oak."
