Royal Ascot: confirmed runners and riders for Queen Anne and St James's Palace
A field of 16 will go to post for the curtain-raising Queen Anne Stakes at Royal Ascot on Tuesday, including ante-post favourite Le Brivido, Lockinge winner Mustashry, Barney Roy and Laurens.
No horse has won the race twice since Dean Swift in 1906 and 1907, but last year's hero Accidental Agent will bid for back-to-back successes for Eve Johnson Houghton and Charlie Bishop.
Godolphin saddle three horses, with 2017 St James's Palace winner Barney Roy favoured in the market. Mythical Magic is Charlie Appleby's other runner, while Dream Castle runs for Saeed Bin Suroor.
The last French-trained winner was Solow in 2015, and Olmedo will bid to give Jean-Claude Rouget a first win in the race.
Royal Ascot opening day final fields
Aidan O'Brien was responsible for the two forfeits as he scratched the two fillies Magical and I Can Fly. The former is expected to go to post for the Prince of Wales's Stakes on Wednesday, while the latter has a Duke of Cambridge entry on the same card.
Phoenix Of Spain will bid to confirm the Curragh form with last year's champion two-year-old Too Darn Hot and Craven winner Skardu, who was third at Newmarket.
King Of Comedy, who like last year's winner Without Parole won the Heron Stakes on his last start, will be partnered by Adam Kirby, who rode him to win on debut.
O'Brien runs three in the race, with Derby sixth Circus Maximus dropping four furlongs in trip and wearing blinkers. Van Beethoven and The Irish Rover complete his trio.
Second favourite Visinari is a notable absentee from the Coventry Stakes.
The grey was an impressive novice winner at Newmarket on debut and, although last year's winner Calyx took that race before going on to Coventry glory, he looks likely to head to the July festival instead.
