Roger Varian thinks Teona has more to offer but decent ground needed for Arc

The Qatar Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe remains strongly under consideration for Teona, who put herself firmly in the picture for the Longchamp prize when beating Snowfall over course and distance in Paris this month.

Roger Varian has been delighted with how Teona has come out of the Prix Vermeille and predicted that her next race would be "better than her last race" on Thursday.

Whether that next race is the Arc will depend on Ali Saeed's homebred daughter of Sea The Stars continuing to please at home, while Varian underlined that any major deterioration in the weather would also have a bearing on whether Teona and Olivier Peslier teamed up again a week on Sunday.
