Summers are not the same but returning Riches has got us giddy

Even Galway, strong enough to take torrential rain on the chin, robust enough to cater for Flat and jumps action and brave enough to cope with more than 160,000 visitors this week, won't be able to hold back the tears today.

The loss of John Thomas McNamara is too cruel, too harsh and too unfair to offer any resistance. This is one day when tears are allowed. Crying is proof that we care and this was one man everyone cared about.

It has been a strange, strange summer. Summers aren't supposed to be like this, you know.
