Marsha will bring down the curtain on her career with a Breeders' Cup Turf Sprint rematch against Lady Aurelia, whom she got the better of in a thrilling Nunthorpe Stakes at York in August.

The pair's Knavesmire clash produced one of the moments of the season, as Frankie Dettori celebrated what he believed to be Lady Aurelia's victory only for a photo to show it was Marsha who had hit the line first by a whisker.

Marsha is set to head to the sales, where she is likely to prove hot property, after her trip to Del Mar, and while Sir Mark Prescott is eager to witness her end her career in style, he admitted to concerns about her handling the track.

The four-year-old went to Chelmsford on Wednesday for a spin around the track's left-hand turn and Prescott revealed she had not performed as well as he'd hoped.

"She was going so quick when she got to the turn," he said. "I'd have liked her to have gone around it tighter and, while it wasn't by any means bad, it's not going to be to her advantage.

"She has experience of going left-handed at Catterick and Dundalk, but they were when she wasn't going nearly as fast. Now she goes quicker I'm not sure she'll like the turn."

Looking back on her Nunthorpe victory, Prescott admitted he feared Dettori had called it right but while he was delighted with the win, he is pessimistic about the chances of another.

"She'll love a fast pace and fast ground but I imagine Lady Aurelia will just whizz around those fast turns in her own backyard," he said. "I can't imagine, from everybody's descriptions of Del Mar, that there will be enough time for Marsha to make up the ground.

"At York everything was in our favour and we were lucky to get up on the line. I'm not really expecting as much luck this time, but we have nothing to lose and everything to gain."
