Top-level titan Mishriff emerged as a surprise contender for the Arc on Monday, with connections preferring the Longchamp showpiece to the Qipco Champion Stakes as long as there is not significant rainfall in Paris this week.

Only Australian wondermare Winx would top Mishriff’s prize-money total – that reads a cool £11.71 million – should he scoop the winning purse of £2,556,193 (€2,857,000) in Europe’s richest race prior to a potential tilt at the Breeders' Cup Turf at Keeneland.
