Joint-favourite On Fiddlers Green only a reserve in Galway Plate
Willie Mullins and Gordon Elliott tend to dominate big-field handicaps in Irish jumps racing but it is Henry de Bromhead who leads the way numerically after Tuesday morning's declarations for theTote.com Galway Plate.
Wednesday's €250,000 feature at Ballybrit will be contested by 22 runners, of which six are trained by De Bromhead – Devils Bride, Sadler's Risk, Balko Des Flos, Marinero, Deans Road and Heron Heights. However, On Fiddlers Green, who had been joint-favourite along with Balko Des Flos in the ante-post betting, failed to make the cut and is only third reserve.
Willie Mullins has five declarations, including Ruby Walsh's mount Shaneshill, plus one of the reserves, while Gordon Elliott has two plus a reserve.
Bryan Cooper rides A Toi Phil for Gigginstown, who sacked him as number one jockey last week. The owners have six runners, while JP McManus has three. Barry Geraghty rides Grand Annual winner Rock The World.
Ballycasey tops the weights at 11st 10lb, while last in at 10st 1lb is Betelimar, the mount of Rachael Blackmore.
