ITV Racing tips: one key runner from Friday's five Breeders' Cup races on ITV4
9.50 Del Mar
Breeders' Cup Juvenile Turf Sprint, 5f, turf, Grade 2
Wesley Ward appears to hold all the aces in the opener on ITV as his filly Averly Jane bids to continue her unbeaten run. Stablemates Twilight Gleaming, second in the Queen Mary, and Kaufymaker also hold claims. Cornwallis winner Twilight Jet is favoured of the British and Irish contingent which include Go Bears Go, Armor, Vertiginous and Hierarchy.
SPOTLIGHT TIP: TWILIGHT JET
Clear winner of 5f Group 3 Cornwallis at Newmarket; contender from ground-saving draw
10.30 Del Mar
Netjets Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies, 1m½f, dirt, Grade 1
Gun Runner's success as a stallion has been a story of the season in the US and his filly Echo Zulu is a short price to add this race to her Grade 1 tally after easy wins in the Spinaway and Frizette Stakes. Her primary challenger will be Hidden Connection, who was a nine-and-a-quarter-length winner of the Grade 3 Pocahontas Stakes last time.
SPOTLIGHT TIP: HIDDEN CONNECTION
Won two starts by almost 17l combined, most recently 8.5f G3 Pocahontas at Churchill Downs
Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf, 1m, turf, Grade 1
The second of the Grade 1s is competitive as the home team is led by Koala Princess, who will be tackling a mile for the first time, but she has two serious threats in British-trained runners Hello You and Mise En Scene. The former won the Rockfel last time while the latter was fourth in the Fillies' Mile. Don't forget about the Natalma second Pizza Bianca.
SPOTLIGHT TIP: KOALA PRINCESS
Has shown serious talent sprinting; pedigree encouraging enough for this trip
TVG Breeders' Cup Juvenile presented by Thoroughbred Aftercare Alliance, 1m½f, dirt, Grade 1
Two big names lock horns in the Juvenile as Bob Baffert and Todd Pletcher fire their best at the race. Corniche was dominant in the American Pharoah at Santa Anita, while Commandperformance showed himself to be a high-class juvenile when runner-up last time.
SPOTLIGHT TIP: COMMANDPERFORMANCE
Runner-up both starts, most recently behind Jack Christopher in 1m G1 Champagne at Belmont
12.30 Del Mar
Breeders' Cup Juvenile Turf, 1m, turf, Grade 1
Charlie Appleby has a strong Breeders' Cup team and he'll be hoping he can get a winner on the board with the Tattersalls Stakes winner Modern Games, while he also saddles Grade 1 Summer Stakes hero Albahr. Dewhurst second Dubawi Legend goes for Hugo Palmer, Great Max is an outsider for Michael Bell and Aidan O'Brien fields Glounthaune.
SPOTLIGHT TIP: MODERN GAMES
Big improver in Britain, 7f G3 win latest; can go well if getting the gaps from gate 1
Friday's race previews:
