Mysterious, quirky and a total enigma. Those closest to Emmet Mullins have been hailing the unconventional Grand National-winning trainer who landed the world's most famous jumps race with 50-1 novice Noble Yeats on Saturday.

The main storyline to come out of the Grand National may have been amateur jockey Sam Waley-Cohen winning the race on his last ride, but the question on a lot of lips was who exactly is the man who masterminded the famous victory? And how has he achieved such a remarkable feat at the age of just 32?

"What is the official definition of an enigma because that's exactly what he is," laughed Danny Mullins when asked to describe his first cousin. For those wondering, one definition is: a person or thing that is mysterious or difficult to understand.
