Gosden's Mehdaayih one of four taken out of Arc as 12 stand their ground
Mehdaayih will not join Enable in Sunday's Qatar Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe after she was one of four taken out of the race on Tuesday – leaving a field of 12 for the Longchamp showpiece.
The Emirates Park filly was Gosden's only other runner entered and misses out along with Matchwinner, Silverwave and Musis Amica. Mehdaayih, last seen finishing second to Deirdre in the Nassau Stakes at Goodwood, was a top-priced 25-1 chance.
The forfeits mean Sunday's race could be the smallest field for an Arc since Dylan Thomas defeated 11 rivals in 2007, although there is a supplementary stage on Wednesday.
Ghaiyyath was the market mover in the Arc betting on Tuesday morning. The Godolphin contender, who destroyed the field in the Grosser Preis von Baden last time was cut to 10-1 (from 12).
