If you've never seen Secretariat's 1973 Belmont Stakes triumph, give it a watch. It's arguably the greatest display from a racehorse of all time.

Looked at in isolation, it was an incredible performance. 'Big Red', as he was known, was taken on for the lead by Sham but went clear from the final turn, "moving like a tremendous machine", as race caller Chic Anderson famously described, and wound up winning by 31 lengths. He stopped the clock for 1m4f in 2:24.00, a record time that still stands.

But consider that he was completing the fabled Triple Crown, adding the Belmont Stakes to the Kentucky Derby and Preakness Stakes in the space of just five weeks, and it's mind blowing stuff.
