Europeans enjoy autumn glow of Keeneland at Breeders' Cup of contrasts

Keeneland’s turf track was called some names after the Breeders' Cup circus first came to town in 2015.

But by the time Colin Keane roared down the outside aboard Tarnawa for victory in this year's Turf, with the track bathed in a low autumnal sun reminiscent of Wincanton or Newbury, many of Europe's horsemen and women had been forced to reconsider their misgivings.

On Saturday the Old World went four out of four on the grass, a set of results made all the sweeter considering the torrid experience of 12 months ago, when Iridessa was the lone highlight at supposedly Euro-friendly Santa Anita.
