Cracksman set to wear cheekpieces but Arc bid remains in the balance
The wait goes on for the decision about Cracksman taking on stablemate Enable in Sunday's Qatar Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe but if he does the Coronation Cup winner is set to wear cheekpieces for the first time.
Owner Anthony Oppenheimer was due to talk to trainer John Gosden on Wednesday evening about confirming Cracksman for Europe's most valuable race at Thursday's declaration stage.
Betting moves on Wednesday suggested Cracksman could run despite the lack of rain in Paris as he shortened with William Hill to 12-1 and Betfred and Totesport going 10-1. Sky Bet, betting non-runner no bet and first four each-way betting, cut Cracksman to 7-1 (from 8).
